Halco is an Australian owned and operated business based in Fremantle, Western Australia, in a purpose-built facility located on the edge of the Indian ocean. All the designing, prototyping and initial testing stages take place right here. Halco manufactures all lures in their own state of the art facility in Batam, Indonesia.

Ben Patrick is Halco’s Managing Director and head lure designer. Ben brings decades worth of lure designing experience, combined with a lifetime of hardcore offshore fishing knowledge to shape and influence the modern day Halco lures.

My job is as follows; go fishing and define a need. Design a functional, tough product to fulfil the need. Then make the product from scratch and mass produce it in our own factory – then go fishing again. It’s an endless circle and I’m going to keep doing it!

Tim Carter

Tim, Halco’s Sales & Marketing Manager, is more affectionately known as “Biggles”. Tim is a lifelong fishing addict that has managed to combine this knowledge and passion with a business sense and work ethic that has turned into a career of over 15 years with Halco.

Curtis is our passionate Digital Marketing officer. Curt started his journey in the fishing industry at the age of 15, writing and filming for Western Angler magazine. Now he spends a lot of time behind the camera, capturing the moments that the Halco team are lucky enough to encounter on their adventures.

Halco Tackle was placed third for all the IGFA Salt-Water World Records captured on lures for 2004 and added the prestigious Best Hard Body Lure at the 2005 Australian tackle Show to its already impressive list of industry awards.

In 2006 Halco won the coveted award by the International Game Fishing Association for the lure company with the most world records in fresh water. In 2007, 2008, 2009, 2013 and 2014, Halco received the AFTA Best of Show Award for Best Hard Lure, as well as the Best Lure Accessory in 2013.

2009 saw Halco Tackle receive an IGFA World Record Acheivement Award for “second Placed Lures”, and in 2014, Halco places third as the IGFA World Record Lure Company.

In 2017, Halco placed as the Runner Up in the Best New Soft lure category, and in 2019, won the award for Best New Terminal tackle at the Australian Tackle Show.

In 2016, Neil Patrick, Halco Chairman, was inducted into the IGFA Hall of Fame for his lifetime contribution to the sustainable future of the recreational fishing industry on a global scale.
